LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-National Youth Football Committee has revealed that they failed to implement some of the plans they had in the 2021 season.

This has been said by the General Secretary of the committee, James Sawerengera.

He highlighted that in 2021 they outlined several activities which were meant to improve the youth football development in the country such as;training young Coaches,Young Referees and capacity building for those responsible for running youth football.

Sawerengera said, these did not take place because they had outlined many activities in the year which could not match with the time frame and hinted that the elections which the association had was the main contributing factor for failing to fulfill other activities as it took a good part of the funding.

He has then vowed to start with these activities in 2022 season saying this is the only way of taking youth football in the country to another level.

“For us to have perfect seasons and perfect youth football development we need to have qualified personnel that would run different departments like in the officiation, Coaching and administration. But since we had elections the time to embark on these activities was not enough.

“It’s my hope that in 2022 we are going to implement these activities which will help to improve the standard of Malawi football hence our national teams will be hard to beat”, explains Sawerengera.
