Malawi’s Nkhotakota man arrested for murdering wife

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Nkhotakota Police Station is keeping in custody a 70-year-old Philip Wilawila for allegedly murdering his wife over family disputes.

The incident occurred on June 26, 2022 at around 18:00 hours at Nkhata Village.

It is reported that Victoria Mkusa, 68,( now deceased) who hailed from Nkhata Village, Traditional Authority ( T.A) Mwadzama in Nkhotakota quarrelled with her husband over family matters.

In the course, the suspect started assaulting the wife on the abdomen and she immediately started vomiting. Later, she fell unconscious.

She was taken to Alinafe Private Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Postmortem conducted at Nkhotakota District Hospital revealed that death was due to rapture viscera secondary to the assault.

Philip Wilawila comes from Nkhata Village, Traditional Authority ( T.A) Mwadzama in Nkhotakota.
