LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB) has released the Initial Primary Teacher Education (IPTE) 18 examination results, doing so barely a day after a petition from concerned candidates over delays.

In an official statement issued Friday, July 18, 2025 MANEB confirmed that out of 7,132 candidates who sat for the examinations, 7,095 have passed.

This represents an impressive 99.6 percent pass rate.

The release of the results comes after several IPTE 18 candidates voiced their frustrations, stating that the delay was a major setback.

The teachers emphasized that the delay was affecting their participation in the upcoming government teacher recruitment process.

This recruitment exercise was announced by the Local Government Service Commission.

MANEB spokesperson, Angella Kashitigu, assured the public yesterday that the results would be released before 1st August 2025.

True to her word, the results have now been published, bringing relief and excitement among the newly qualified teachers.
