LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Chipiku Premier Division side, Mchinji Boma Strikers FC, has finally lodged a complaint to the Central region football governing body against decision of Referee Idrissa Matola who awarded Airborne Rangers FC a penalty last weekend which led the team to abandon the game as they felt it was not genuine.

According to the General Secretary of the club, Lyson Tasauka, confirmed writing CRFA to consider on their determination to award three points and two goals to group C leaders Airborne Rangers FC while the game ended even before a half an hour.
Tasauka added,Referee Idrissa Matola awarded their counterparts Rangers a penalty which they feel was soft and dubious as his two assistances Aubrey Magombo and Saul Gringo agreed it was not to be a penalty.
“What we want from CRFA is to summon both parties and hear from us than just giving our colleagues points in a game which just lasted 25 minutes.
However, our technical and players somehow did wrong for abandoning the game because the ideal way was to play under protest than leaving the pitch”.
Tasauka further said the CRFA decision to award three points the home team, Airborne Rangers FC was somehow correct but they have made it in a hurry before hearing from both parties and come up with determination.
His counterpart Madalo Mkwate, Airborne Rangers FC General Secretary, said they just saw the updated group C logtable that they were awarded maximum points and two goals.
He said as team they are ready to honour the call from CRFA if there will be any.
Central Region Football Association (CRFA) Public Relations Officer, Kondwani Kandiado, confirmed receiving the complaint from Mchinji Boma Strikers FC.
But Kandiado highlighted that as association encourages and emphasises that if there are some acts which displease a certain team in a field of play, such a team must play under protest of which the complainant did not do hence they abandoned the game.
He then said as association they have appeals committee which will sit down and investigate to get the bottom line of the whole incident with support from referees report.
On the results which have already been given to Airborne Rangers FC, Kandiado said it is possible to reverse if they get vivid evidences from what Mchinji Boma Strikers FC are complaining about. He added the verdict will be out so soon.
Airborne Rangers FC are the run away leaders of group C with 27 points from 9 games, yet to test a defeat while Mchinji Boma Strikers FC are struggling in the league and occupies position 7 with 6 points from 9 games having won once and managed three draws with 5 loses.
Four teams from eight in the group will qualify to the second round of the 2022 Chipiku Stores Premier division league.
2021 Chipiku Stores Premier division league delayed to complete when such incident erupted between Wimbe United and Dedza Dynamos FC.
It took too long for the teams to swallow their pride and play the abandoned game as determined by CRFA.
