LILONGWE (Maravi Post)—Malawi’s Minister of information Patricia Kaliati has blasted Malawians who are agitating for regime change after noting that the incumbent President Peter Mutharika is incompetent and only capable of bringing more misery to Malawians.
Malawi University Students have already made their statement that they want Mutharika gone and they are planning to stage massive vigils until their demand is met. The students want Mutharika to reduce the insensitive fees hike which Mutharika has approved.
The National Intelligence Bureau has since placed surveillance on popular Catholic Bishop Martin Mtumbuka who they allege is conniving with Northern region leaders to effect a regime change.
Speaking during the commemoration of the Independence Day at Bingu International Conference Centre in the capital Lilongwe on Wednesday; Kaliati said this is not the time to demand a regime change saying we just hard it in 2014.
Kaliati bragged that Malawi is heading in the right direction under the dynamic and visionary leadership of President Mutharika.
Malawi President Peter Mutharika is being accused of mediocre performance in running the affairs of the state. There is high unemployment rate, due to the bad policies of his Vice President Saulos Chilima in recommending to him to freeze all employment in the civil service under the guise of public reforms. Mutharika is also presiding over the lack of medicines in public hospitals and is also shy to act decisively on the wanton killings of people with Albinism.
