LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Thandie Chisi, Miss Malawi 2025, on Friday 20 February 2026, paid a courtesy call to Vice President Jane Ansah, showcasing her commitment to sustainable fashion and women’s empowerment as the founder and executive director of Sustainable Fashion and Women Empowerment.

She has been using fashion and skills training as tools for economic empowerment, impacting over 600 young women and girls from underserved communities through her organization’s tailoring and life-skills programs.

Thandie’s approach integrates financial literacy training, recognizing that skills alone are not enough for long-term independence, and her work has caught the attention of institutions as she builds partnerships to scale her impact, including a national campaign with TEVETA to promote vocational skills uptake countrywide.

Vice President Jane Ansah praised Thandie’s work, saying she has been bold in reaching out to others and encouraging them, and what she’s doing with the young people of Malawi resonates very well.

Thandie’s vision is to move from impacting hundreds to transforming thousands of young women across Malawi, believing that aligning institutional leadership with grassroots momentum is key to achieving this goal, and her own story serves as a testament to the power of vocational skills and education in empowering individuals and communities.

Ansah encouraged Thandie to continue sharing her story to motivate and empower other young women in the country.
