Mphatso Zathu Foundation handsover magnificent eco-sanitry toilet to Blantyre’s Ngumbe Primary school

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Mphatso Zathu Foundation has donated a magnificent eco-sanitry toilet block to Ngumbe Primary School at Namwiyo in Blantyre.

The facility aims at improving girls attendance to lessons at the school during menstruation periods.

The eco-sanitry toilet which is worth MK6 million will help over 1000 female pupils at the school.

Speaking after handing over the facility, Mphatso Zathu Foundation’s Team lead Ruth Maluwa expects improvement lessons attendance in female learners.

Maluwa also said the facility will generate manure for toward smart agriculture production.

“With long partnership with Ngumbe Primary school, we came to note that female learners absentism is high due to poor changing room facilities for their menstrual.

“We are optimistic that the facility will improve classes attendance during female learners menstruation period but also generating manure for local communities,” assures Maluwa.

In his remarks, Blantyre District Council Principal planning officer Innocent Simakweli lauds the foundation to complementing government efforts with infrastructure development towards education promotion.

Echoing the same, Chief Education Officer for Blantyre District Alfred Chirwa lauds the organisation for the timely support towards girls education improvement.

Blantyre district’s NGORA Monitoring and Analysis Officer Patrick Yaluzi also commended the foundation for improving girls education.

Yaluzi expects more Non-government organisation to strive in bringing meaningful development towards agenda Malawi 2063.
