Chilima's and Mutharika's

In a Statesman way Malawi Former President Peter Mutharika prayed for Vice President Saulos Chilima when news of his missing plane became known.

Saulos Chilima who broke away from the DPP and started his own party causing the downfall of the DPP would have garnered hatred from APM. However, as news of the missing plane became known. APM released a very statesman message below, showing that some things are larger than politics.

Saulos Chilima dies in plane crash

Gertrude and I are profoundly concerned by the events of the last hours. We join all Malawians in prayer for the safety of the Vice President, Rt Hon Saulos Klaus Chilima as well as the crew and other passengers on the missing flight.

As we hold steadfast in prayer, may we reflect on the following words of comfort from the Scriptures. The 33rd Psalm, verses 20 to 22:

“So, our hope is in the Lord. He is our help, our shield to protect us. We rejoice in Him, because we trust His Holy Name. Lord, show Your love to us as we put our hope in You.”

The DPP leadership also encouraged its supporters in the north to help in the search for the missing plane.

The DPP has also released a message of Condolences to the Veep and his family and for others that perished in the plane crash.
