Refurbish Your Truck in One Weekend

3 Min Read

Refurbishing a truck can often be a long, drawn out process – but if you’re willing to commit a full weekend to getting the job done, it’s entirely possible to have your truck looking like a new one by the beginning of next week. If you’re planning to refurbish your truck over the weekend, it’s absolutely essential to make sure that you’ve got everything planned out and all the tools and parts to hand before you begin, as you could waste valuable time searching for and purchasing new parts and tools if you haven’t got them ready. Although it’s a project that will require two full days of hard work and dedication, if you’re feeling ready to get your truck refurbished over the weekend, read on for some handy tips to get the job done.

Plan Ahead

Unless you’re reading this on a Saturday morning and want to start working straight away, using the week beforehand to make sure that you’ve got everything planned and ready to start is a great way to ensure that you get the full job done. You’ll need to take some time to research and buy the parts that you’ll need to refurbish your truck, so in order to save time on the weekend, use your spare time in the week to do so. How long it takes depends on the type of truck that you have and the refurbishments you’re planning to do – if you have an older or less common truck model you might find that you’ll need to research a lot further than someone with a common truck model with parts widely available.

Decide What You Need

Having all the parts and tools to hand before you begin is a great way to stay organized and make sure that it doesn’t take any more than one weekend to refurbish your truck. Purchasing items such as a raptor bed liner and auto tools over the week before will ensure that come Saturday morning, you’re ready to get stuck in to refurbishing. For this reason, it’s a good idea to decide beforehand exactly what kind of refurbishment you’re going to do, how much you’re willing to spend, as well as finding out how to carry out tasks that you’re unsure of.

Beginning Work

Once you’ve got all your parts, tools and plans in order, it’s time to start the fun bit – actually refurbishing the truck. You’ll probably need to begin with taking the truck apart, so it might be a good idea to have a work partner to help you with the bigger jobs. The amount of parts that you replace is up to you, as you might find that some don’t need replacing. Once you’ve replaced all of the parts and put the truck back together, it’s time to add a new coat of paint and drive away!
