Citizens will always find a way to achieve their goals, despite obstacles or changes made by those in power. In Malawi, we’ve seen this play out in recent history.
Back in 2019/2020, opposition parties joined forces to get what they wanted – and they succeeded ¹. Now, looking ahead to 2025, Malawians who are unhappy with the current government, led by the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) and its president.
Malawians may be gearing up to make their voices heard once again.
It’s clear that Malawians value good governance, economic stability, and development.
They’re eager for a government that prioritizes their needs and delivers on its promises.
The MCP’s performance in the 2025 elections will likely depend on its ability to address concerns around corruption, job creation, and economic growth ¹.
In the past, Malawians have shown they’re willing to hold their leaders accountable and push for change.
The country’s history is marked by moments of citizens coming together to demand better governance and more representation.
From the emergence of the Malawi kingdom to the country’s modern-day democratic struggles, the people have consistently demonstrated their power and resilience ².
As the 2025 elections approach, it’s essential for politicians to listen to the people’s concerns and prioritize their needs.
Malawians want a government that’s transparent, accountable, and committed to improving their lives. Will the MCP deliver, or will another party rise to the challenge? Only time tell.
