Silver Reserves set for Nyasa Capital loan defense

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Silver Strikers Reserve FC Head Coach, Leo Ferguson Mpulula, says will be up to defend the Nyasa Capital Finance Regional Cup in its second edition.

Mpulula made the sentiments after the draw for second edition which has been jointly conducted by Nyasa Capital Finance and Central Region Football Association (CRFA) on Wednesday at Civo Stadium in the Capital, Lilongwe.

He says that the battle for supremacy this year won’t be easy as the package has been increased which will make teams to play their lungs out.

Mpulula added his team is ready for the task to defend the cup.

“I have quality of good players who are ready to defend the title, they have jelled well and improved in Chipiku Premier league,we will try our level best to prepare them well for the tough task ahead of us”, Mpulula said.

Silver Strikers Reserve FC defeated Kamuzu Barracks RSV FC 6-2 in the 2021 edition at Silver Stadium in Lilongwe to win the cup in its maiden year.

Silver Strikers Reserve FC will play against UNAYO Division One League side yet to be known as they set the journey of defending the title.

32 teams which 24 are from Chipiku Premier Division League and 8 from UNAYO Division One League have been drawn together.

Other division one league teams are yet to pay the K30 000, affiliation fees hence have been labelled by numbers.

The cup in the central region is anticipated to kick off on 24th September,2022.

One of the Directors of Nyasa Capital Finance Ronald Chiwaula described the draw as free and fair.He has however urged all the 32 participating teams to abide by the rules and regulations of the competition.

Chiwaula said Nyasa Capital Finance is committed in the development of football in the country saying that is the reason the company has raised the Sponsorship package from MK45 million to MK65 million.

Nyasa Capital Finance formerly known as TAMA Loans Consultant Limited and Football Association of Malawi (FAM) signed a three years regional cup sponsorship to the tune of MK45 million on 17th September, 2021 which each region was getting MK5 million per annum.

The company however has raised the package to MK65 million which will now see the three regions receiving MK8.3 million annually.
