UTM leader Dr Kabambe accuses Chakwera Govt of failing to pay pensioners

2 Min Read

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-UTM leader Dr. Dalitso Kabambe has strongly criticized the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) government, stating that it has failed miserably in managing pension payments, leaving retired civil servants to suffer.

According to Dr. Kabambe, pensioners across the country have been struggling to access their pension money since their retirement from the civil service.

He expressed deep concern over the delays in pension payments, noting that many retired workers have been left in financial distress due to the government’s inefficiency.

Dr. Kabambe further revealed that some pensioners have tragically lost their lives due to the immense stress caused by years of waiting for their money.

He lamented the fact that pension payments, which should be processed within a reasonable time, often take years before pensioners can receive what they rightfully deserve.

Calling the situation a national crisis, Dr. Kabambe assured Malawians that the UTM government would resolve this issue once in power.

He stated with confidence that, from September 16, the UTM administration would ensure that pensioners no longer have to wait for years to access their funds.

He further emphasized that it is disheartening to see dedicated civil servants working for many years only to be left struggling without their pension money after retirement.

Dr. Kabambe assured the nation that under a UTM-led government, this suffering would become a thing of the past, as pension payments would be processed efficiently and without unnecessary delays.

He urged Malawians to support a leadership that prioritizes the welfare of its people and respects the hard work of retired civil servants.

The issue of pension delays has long been a source of frustration in Malawi, and Dr. Kabambe’s remarks have reignited the debate on the need for urgent reforms in the system.

As the next elections approach, the question remains whether Malawians will trust UTM to deliver on its promises and put an end to the crisis facing pensioners.
