LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Area 30 outfit Blue Eagles FC have maintained their good start of the 2022 TNM Super League following their home two nil victory over rookies Rumphi United.
The cops scored through Gilbert Chirwa at 14th minute and John Malidadi Jnr at 42nd minute in the first half.
The host took time to settle in this half despite getting those crucial goals.Captain Schumacher Kuwali, Sankhani Mkandawire, Gaddie Chirwa, Arthur Moffat and MacDonald Lameck enjoyed the play while Omegadho Mhone was play maker to the Leopards of Chikulamayembe.

Jacob Tembo,Zikani Kasambala,Festus Chikwenga,Gerald Ngwira gave tough time to the host but easily eased it with their solid defence of MacDonald Lameck, Jacob Robert, Sankhani Mkandawire and Ian Chinyama.
Goalkeeper Brighton Munthali was again on top of his game denying Rumphi United’s efforts and kept his clean sheet in his two games he has played for Blue Eagles FC.
First half ended with no changes from either sides.Second half the home team introduced Onesimo Mbendera for Ian Chinyama due to injury, Stuart Mbunge, Chifuniro Mpinganjira replaced Arthur Moffat and Gilbert Chirwa.
Rumphi United replaced Omegadho Mhone, Ganizani Muomba,Nathan Msiska and Waliko Chaula for Wellington Mkandawire, Zikani Mnthali,Brian Mhone and Jacob Tembo.
However the substitution for the Leopards didn’t pay dividend as it was thought by technical panel led by Gilbert Chirwa hence gave enough room for Eliah Kananji’s side which started flying high as the Eagles. The last 45 minutes did not register any goals despite chances being created from both sides.
The win for the Nankhaka Police officers on Sunday means they have kept their good start of the 2022 TNM Super League season and currently topping the 16 team log table with 6 points,three goals from two games and they are yet to concede.
On Sunday which was fourth day of the second week of the league only Blue Eagles FC emerged victors and the other four fixtures shared spoils.
Ekwendeni Hammers held MAFCO at Mzuzu Stadium to a two all draw,Mike Thete scored a brace at 19th, 66th minute respectively while the Soldiers scored through Paul Ndolvu and Zikani Sichinga at 22nd and 53rd minute.
Kamuzu Barracks escaped Tigers attack at Civo Stadium after a one all draw, Dedza Dynamos held Karonga United to a one all draw at Balaka Stadium, Clement Nyondo scored for Ma Dayi while Josiah Duwa scored for the Crocodiles and there were no goals at Chiwembe Stadium where rookies Sable Farming played Kasungu Based side TN Stars.
After the match Gilbert Chirwa, Rumphi United Coach, acknowledged the defeat to Blue Eagles FC but attributed it to poor officiation.
Blue Eagles FC Assistant Coach, Christopher Sibale, hailed his charges for the victory citing it was hard playing against the rookies who they didn’t know their type of play.
“We told our boys to get early goals which they did despite not displaying beautiful football as we planned.Rumphi counter calculated us hence we failed to penetrate and get goals in the second half,complacency should not hip in our boys but treat each game we play with caution”, he joyfully said.
The Leopards of Chikulamayembe have returned to their base Rumphi District empty handed from the Central region after losing all of the two assignments.
On Saturday they lost to Silver Strikers FC by a goal to nil before being trimmed to nothing by the flying Eagles by two goals.Rumphi is yet to register a win in three games.
In week three day number 5,Blue Eagles FC travels to Mzuzu to battle it out with the Lions of Kaning’ina Moyale Barracks FC at the Mzuzu Stadium.
