All set for Carlsberg Cup national draw

The national draw for the 2015 Carlsberg Cup is set for Wednesday at the Chiwembe Technical Centre in Blantyre.
The draw will see nine regional teams joining seven Super League teams who were not seeded for the preliminary round.

The eight winners of the preliminary round will qualify for the first round to join the eight seeded teams.

 

The teams that finished in the top eight in the 2014 TNM Super League season have been seeded from the preliminary phase.

A press statement from Football Association Malawi said the preliminary round will have seven Super League teams involving the newly promoted three teams and the other four that finished between position nine and 12 last season – and the nine regional league teams.

The eight winners from the preliminary round will then join the eight seeded teams for the round of 16.

The eight winner of the preliminary round matches will join the eight seeded teams including defending champions Big Bullets F.C., Moyale, Blue Eagles, Civo United,Silver Strikers, Red Lions, Mafco, Azam Tigers F.C. in the round of 16 draw.

Preliminary round Teams

Super League teams: Mighty Wanderers, Kamuzu Barracks, Epac F.C., Airborne Rangers, Wizzard FC, Dedza Young Soccer, Mzuni FC.
SRFL Teams: Ndirande Icons, Max Bullets, Changalume.
CRFL teams: Master Security, Support Battalion and Silver Strikers Reserves.
NRFL teams: Karonga United, Chirumba Barracks, OP FC.

Round of 16

The eight winner of the preliminary round matches will join the eight seeded teams defending champions Big Bullets F.C., Moyale, Blue Eagles, Civo United,Silver Strikers, Red Lions, Mafco, Azam Tigers F.C. in the round of 16 draw.
Last year’s runners-up Zomba United failed to emulate their fairytale run of the last season after they were booted out. By Ndirande Icons.
