MZUZU-(MaraviPost)-Various items worth MK4million has been donated to Mzuzu central hospital to help in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic.

This comes in response to a request by the hospital officials that they are in need of items in the Covid-19 isolation facility which has just been opened.

An executive member for the Asian business community, Ash Rashi Bano said that the donation is to show that Covid-19 is real and that together we can fight this pandemic.

“After receiving a request from the MCH administrator we saw it very important not to wait for the disaster to happen but to renovate the Covid-19 lsoration facility and give out protective items to prevent the virus.” lamented Bano.

According to the administrator for Mzuzu central hospital Timothy Soko the government with the help from World Bank constructed the Mzuzu central hospital isolation center.

But some other things were not finalised therefore the coming in of the Asian business community will help a lot in the operation of the facility.

“The asian business community has always been assisting us in many ways and what they have just done today is a big step towards the preparedness of Covid-19 pandemic.”said the administrator.

Adding that the stakeholders should still come in, since the hospital is in need of additional PPEs for protection.

Apart from the donation of items like face masks,PPEs,disposable gloves and sanitizers the asian community has also renoveted the isolation centre by maintaining toilets, bathrooms painting the roofs and floors etc.
