ZOMBA-(MaraviPost)-In a stirring address at the Chilundu cultural fundraising event held at Zomba Cathedral, United Democratic Front (UDF) President Atupele Muluzi has called on Malawians to remain hopeful and resilient in the face of the country’s ongoing economic challenges.
Muluzi emphasized the need for visionary and committed leadership at all levels to steer Malawi towards its development aspirations.
The event, which aimed to raise funds for the Catholic Women’s Association under the Zomba Diocese, saw Muluzi donate MK5 million towards the noble cause.
The association is seeking to raise K60 million to purchase a 40-seater bus to address transportation challenges and promote the women’s ministry.
Chairperson of the Catholic Women’s Association, Christina Lakiyoni, expressed gratitude for Muluzi’s contribution, highlighting the significant impact the bus would have on facilitating the spread of the word of God across the diocese.
In his remarks, Bishop Alfred Mateyu Chaima urged the faithful to live a balanced life, rooted in honesty, love, and generosity.
He emphasized the importance of spiritual and social harmony in navigating the challenges facing the nation.
