BLANTYRE-(MaraviPpst)-President Lazarus Chakwera has elevated Chief Kaduya to the status of paramount chief, recognizing her significant contributions to her chieftaincy clan.
The president commended the clan for choosing their leader without any political interference, emphasizing the importance of impartiality in such matters.
In a congratulatory message, President Chakwera promised Chief Kaduya his government’s support in her new role as paramount chief.
He also urged her to promote unity and reconciliation within the Lomwe tribe, highlighting the need for her to be an exemplary leader who unites all members of the tribe as one family.
Furthermore, the president advised Chief Kaduya to continue prioritizing the development of her area.
Recognizing the importance of local development, he launched the MK100 million constituency development fund for every constituency.
President Chakwera also clarified rumors that he was sidelining the Lomwe people, asserting that the funds being utilized by some politicians in the region were provided by his government.
It is crucial, he stressed, that all government resources and initiatives benefit the people as a whole and not just a select few.
During his visit to the south region to support the victims of the Freddy disaster, the president assured the affected families of his unwavering commitment to their well-being.
In addition to urging the public to be vigilant regarding the potential outbreak of cholera, President Chakwera emphasized the importance of following health surveillants’ instructions to prevent the spread of the disease.
He also instructed for the distribution of maize to all ADMARC depots, ensuring that vendors do not purchase maize in excessive quantities.
Lastly, the president called on the public to exercise prudence in their financial management, recognizing the economic challenges faced by many.
By being mindful of their expenditures and making wise financial decisions, he believes individuals can contribute to the overall stability and growth of the economy.
