Dear Editor,
I would like to bring to your attention the burning issue here in Zambia right now.
Our independent newspaper, The Post, reported last week about Malawians who were recruited as voters on our Zambian voters roll. In today’s Post edition, it was the headline showing two of your headmen displaying Zambian voter’s cards and even daring that they’re ready to come and vote on 11th August in our country.

First of all, kindly educate these people that it is illegal for them to do that. If Zambians were to vote in Malawian elections its wrong too.
Furthermore, tell those duped foreign voters that as we approach August the situation may not be as friendly to them as it has always been as neighbours. Tempers are high in Zambia now especially with the adamancy of our electoral commission to print ballot papers in Dubai against many stakeholder’s advice and appeal. Most of us the electorates are smelling something wrong and fishy with the conduct of our electoral body and the ruling party. And now Malawians being registered to vote in our country adds salt to the wound.
Warn those that if they dare step into our nation with the intention to come and vote, they’ll do so at their own risk. This goes to all other foreigners that may have been duped and bribed to register as voters in our country……come at your own risk. You may live to learn what a Zambian is capable of doing if pushed to the extreme.
Let us vote as Zambians and choose our own so we blame ourselves if we choose wrongly.
I appeal to your paper to investigate this story exposed by our newspaper The Post in today’s edition.
I attach a picture of the front page headline for your perusal.

The two countries have enjoyed peace and politics should not separate us. Government of Malawi please sensitize your nationals against committing this offence. How would you feel if we also come to participate in your elections. Please let us not crate a xenophobic environment for ourselves because Malawi as will be killed if they come for their illigal intentions. Let to respect country boundaries.
