A renowned Agriculturist in Karonga district who is also the owner of Inter Line Buse Services Daniel Mwanyongo-Chitonya has announced that he has joined the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) with message that his new party will end hunger when it forms government in 2019.
Mwanyongo announced his joining of the party during a meeting which he MCP leadership in the district organized recently..
He said it is worrisome that the country which used to be a food basket in Africa with the same soil and land under the leadership of Kamuzu Banda has now turned into a beggar nation. He attributed the situation due what he described as negligence on the part of Malawian leaders.
Mwanyongo who revealed that he will contest as a Member of Parliament for Karonga North west in 2019 disclosed that “before joining the party, I first studied their policies to see if they have ambitions of transforming the country from being dependent as we are now to being independent.”
The MCP’s new catch pleaded with Malawians to trust the MCP leadership as it is the only genuine party with policies that are designed to develop the country and its people.
In his remarks, the MCP Northern Region Chairperson Kezzie Msukwa said that the joining of different people in the party is a sign of the party’s victory in the forthcoming 2019 elections.
“This is a clear indication that come 2019, the Malawi Congress Party is forming government in order to rescue the people who are facing problems due to the current selfish government, which its leaders only aspires at enrich themselves leaving poor Malawians suffering,” said Msukwa.
Some of the notable people who attended the meeting include Dr Cornelius Mwalwanda who— a former deputy minister of economic and now a senior MCP official.
