LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Malawi First Lady Gertrude Mutharika, is set to travel to United States of America to participate in the Fostering the Future Global Summit, a high-level international gathering focused on building an equitable digital future for children worldwide.
The summit, scheduled to take place in Washington, D.C. from March 24 to 26, 2026, will bring together First Ladies and global leaders from across the world.
According to a statement released by the Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Adack Said on March 19th,the First Lady’s visit follows an invitation from the First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump.
The forum aims to develop strategies that will help secure a brighter, safer, and more inclusive digital future for children.
During her visit, Madam Mutharika is also expected to engage in high-level official duties alongside other international delegates, reinforcing Malawi’s commitment to global collaboration on issues affecting children and digital inclusion.
The Fostering the Future Global Summit is regarded as a prestigious platform for advancing dialogue and action on child protection and digital equity in an increasingly connected world.
