Malawians in Texas are assisting the Good steward global in the collection and sorting of books to build approximately a dozen libraries in Northern Malawi.
The group will be sorting books this coming Saturday morning June 6th from 9 am to 12 noon at the Houston Food Bank, 535 Portwall (take the Gellhorn exit off I-10 East) for the upcoming shipment of books bound for Malawi.
According to a posting on their Facebook page, Saturday’s effort will more than likely complete the total number of palettes for the Malawi effort depending on how many sorting hands show up. It has been an incredible journey so far with the outpouring of generosity in terms of books donated, time volunteered, financial donations and support of various kinds.
The Facebook posting is inviting people to join the effort. (If you haven’t joined us before, just go to the information booth and tell them you’re there to sort books with Good Steward and then come to Aisle 18—just inside the glass doors of the warehouse and to the right).
The weather will be nice, bring friends and family.
According to the Facebook posting, children under the age of 10 are typically not allowed into the warehouse area due to safety concerns and restrictions. Not my rule but sometimes they (the HFB) are flexible on this rule.

Please also remember that we are still fund raising to pay for the shipment of the 30,000 plus books to the Warm Heart of Africa. We have raised some but not all of the $12,000.00 cost.http://www.goodstewardglobal.org/#!malawi-project/cj9u
