I wish to assure you that it has nothing, not even a single dot to get you worried. What others are doing is simply blowing it out of proportion to discourage UTM fans from offering all their support to the alliance. Both Dr Saulos Klaus Chilima (SKC) and Dr Lazarus Mac Cathy Chakwera (LMC) are not stupid. They know what they will do at what time.
Make no mistake, Chakwera will be the next president because of SKC’s votes, something Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has lacked since 1994. Simply put, MCP has only managed to safeguard and protect territorial votes. Most people that vote for MCP are party loyalists. I love to call them traditional voters for the mighty party.
Then we have these swing votes. Very important votes, but not party loyalists. They support policies, not personalities or parties. They will support this person today and that one tomorrow. It is usually comprised of young and urban voters who pay attention to leaders manifestos and the things happening around.
These are the same votes that made Muluzi defeat Kamuzu and Chihana in 1994. They are the same votes that robbed MCP of victory in 2004 by voting unanimously for Mgwirizano Coalition.
They are the same votes that gave Bingu Mutharika that landslide victory in 2009. These voters were at one point behind Atupele’s Agenda for Change in 2011 and 2012 before swinging to Joyce Banda’s Peoples Party (PP) in 2014, again, denying MCP an outright win.
As it stands, Chilima commands these votes and he is taking them to MCP. So it will be the usual MCP traditional voters + these swing votes and that’s game over.
Besides, it should also stick to you that these voters will continue to follow SKC beyond 2025 because he has a way with them and they just love him.
He is the first politician to speak their language, offer their type stunts and provoke their natural erections. He has erected the lost hope in them.
Whatever it is, SKC will even emerge stronger in 2025. Enough of that.
Please pay attention to Dr. Chakwera when he speaks. How fondly he calls our ‘Saulos Klaus Chilima’ in his full package American accent. You can tell he has great love, respect and admiration for SKC.
Our focus is 23 June, not 2025. Do not lose it over that small lapse of tongue. Dr Chakwera is not a greedy politician. He has my full confidence. Besides, SKC is a very clever and patient man. Amayijaja heavy.

Unless, Chilima is an idiot he will buy this silly argument. Chakwera contradicted Chilima, for goodness sake. is that good? It is clear for any UTM member that Chakwera is just using Chilima. It is a fact now.
