LILONGWE Maravipost: Member of Parliament for Blantyre City South West, Sammeer Suleiman, says that Richard Chimwendo’s condemnation of violations in the August House is total hypocrisy.

Suileman expressed his views in the August House on Thursday, March 20th, stating that Chimwendo is protecting suspects who violate cars owned by Parliament members in Parliament premises.

According to Suileman, Chimwendo is responsible for the violations because the men involved are connected to him.

He made fun of Salima South East Mike Mwawa as his eland person and criticized him for hiring him to commit violence.

In addition, he stated that had Chimwendo truly condemned violations, the suspects could have been arrested by now.

“Although his government quickly arrested the culprits of Machinga violations, the Parliament suspects, who the August House witnessed and had evidence against, are still walking freely, which is a matter of cosmetics,”said Suileman.

The leader of the house, Richard Chimwendo, asked the house to use their leaders to condemn the violations that are currently happening in the cities of the country.

Chimwendo dismiss claims of using Salima South East Mike Mwawa as a running eland guy for him as he have his personal assistant.

He claimed that the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) and Democratic Progressive Party (DPP, the two major political parties in the country, should summon their supporters to order as they are all responsible.

Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Chief Whip Jappie Mhango acknowledged Chimwendo’s call saying that the country needs to stabilize as we are approaching general elections.

The country continues to experience series of violations, including demonstrations country-wide in protest of food hikes, salary hikes , and tax reductions, among others.
