LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Southern Region Vice President Kondwani Nankhumwa on Sunday, May 1, 2022 told President Lazarus Chakwera to stop crop inspections tours instead he should engage manufacturers to reduce basic items prices.

Nankhumwa who is also Leader of Opposition in Malawi Parliament told Chakwera to use tour funds to subside basic needs commodities including cooking oil, soap, sugar and among others.

He told the mammoth Mgona, Lilongwe rally that Chakwera should be in office to find solution on economic challenges Malawians are going through.

Nankhumwa also dared ADMARC Chief Executive Officer Rhino Chiphiko to stop using the newly purchased vehicle for it to be sold so that the money should be used to buy maize.

He however asked the other party camp to stop fighting him as he is a member of the party has a right to be an aspirant.

The leader of opposition therefore sided with religious leaders on pastoral letters issued on how President Chakwera’s Tonse government is failing to meet Malawians expectations.

This is the first time Nankhumwa to hold a rally amid DPP power struggle after booted out of government in June 2020.
