LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Malawi Veep Jane Ansah seems is paying blind eyes on austerity measures her boss Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika put towards economic recovery.
In a shocking revelation of a public notice Ansah, is scheduled to undertake a private visit to the United Kingdom from December 26, 2025, to January 10, 2026.
Surprisingly, Ansah has assembled about 15 officials to accompany her that channels have already engaged to ensure appropriate diplomatic coordination.
In a formal notice dated December 11, 2025, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation informed the Malawi High Commission in London of the Vice President’s travel plans.
The communication requests the High Commission to liaise with British authorities to facilitate protocol, security, and logistical arrangements in line with standards accorded to the Office of the Vice President.
During her stay, Ansah is expected to spend time in Nottingham.
Surprise to many, Foreign Affairs Ministry has justified the trip.
Although the visit is described as private, the involvement of the Ministry and the High Commission underscores the necessity of official coordination whenever a high-ranking state official travels abroad.
The Vice President will be accompanied by a delegation comprising senior officials from her office, protocol staff, security personnel, medical staff, and personal assistants.
Such a delegation is customary for holders of high constitutional office, even during non-official engagements, to ensure safety, continuity of duty, and adherence to diplomatic norms.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has emphasized that the arrangements are purely facilitative and aimed at maintaining cordial relations with host authorities while safeguarding the dignity of the office.
Ansah is expected to return to Malawi on January 10, 2026, after which she will resume her official duties.
