Which leadership is Malawi looking for?

It’s now almost four years since Malawi went to the polls in 2020 to elect a president and government to run this country. How have we moved on our way to Canaan the promised land?

The next election is coming and just around the corner in 2025 and Malawi must decide so that this nation moves forward. This article is a reminder and guide to what Malawians should look for before choosing the next government.

Leadership

“The action of leading a group of people or an organisation.” That’s how the Oxford Dictionary defines leadership. In simple words, leadership is about taking risks and challenging the status quo. Leaders motivate others to achieve something new and better.

Leadership is the ability of an individual or a group of people to influence and guide followers or members of an organization, society, or team. Leadership often is an attribute tied to a person’s title, seniority, or ranking in a hierarchy.

The purpose of leadership is to guide the people in an organization to work towards the attainment of common organizational goals.

The leader brings the people and their efforts together to achieve common goals. Continuous process: Leadership is a continuous process.

The ability to make decisions, particularly when under pressure, is an important skill to master. Trustworthiness. Empowerment of others.

Clear communication. Resilience. Here are some qualities to look for to help you identify potential leaders in the next election:

They’re engaged with their work. They see failure as an opportunity. They communicate well. They listen well. They’re humble. They motivate others to achieve success. They are effective multitaskers.

Finally, Who do you think is your next leader in 2025? Choosing a leader is not done by accident or guesswork.

Take your time today fellow Malawians and study all the prospective leaders who would like to contest in the next election do what you chose the best will serve your community and nation better.
