Malawi FA up with central region cup

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-As one way of bridging the gap which is there between Super League and other leagues as well as creating smooth transitional path for young players from lower league to the highest level, Football Association of Malawi (FAM) is set to launch Under 23 Central Region FAM Cup on Friday, August 26, 2022 at Mitundu Trading Center, Lilongwe.

CRFA Public relations officer, Kondwani Kandiado said the ceremony will start at 13:00 hours and that prior to the launch there will be a parade with a trophy among other activities that have been lined up.

He added FAM President, Walter Nyamilandu Manda will grace the event along side representatives of the nine districts in the region hence inviting all sports lovers to come in large numbers to witness the anticipated colorful event.

The opening match during the launch will be Mitundu Babtist Football Club against Shire FC.

The 2021 edition launch took place in Salima district.

FAM is pumping in MK60 million for the initiative per annum where all 29 districts are receiving MK2 million share.
