John Tembo offered to Mediate Peace

The opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP) members  have  vehemently rejected calls that former President John Tembo should intervene on the wrangles   happening within the party.

Addressing a news conference in the Capital City Lilongwe, a group of party members calling themselves party owners said they don’t have problems warranting external assistance from Tembo.

Constituency Chairmen told the media that its time for Tembo to continue enjoying his retirement.

The chairmen were addressing a press conference in response to another conference which MCP splinter group held early last week led by Chatinkha Chidzanja Nkhoma who described MCP president Dr Lazarus Chakwera as a failure.

Chatinkha asked Chakwera to call for a convention in order to validate other thin issues within the party.

“MCP is a very strong party and we are very intact in fact we cannot be swayed by the so called Chatinkha because all those people who were making noise in lodges have no positions at all,” Said Banda, one of the chairman. Banda said the party agenda is on 2019.

“We are the party owners as chairmen anyone in need of hearing on party activities we are saying the party is strong at grass root,” Said Banda.
