BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)—UTM leader Saulos Klaus Chilima, who is also the vice president of the Republic of Malawi, has described President Peter Mutharika’s long stay in the United States of America as a waste of time.

Speaking at a press briefing today in Lilongwe, Chilima, in an apparent reference to the acts of violence that are allegedly being perpetrated by the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) cadets,  said President Mutharika is failing to lead the country well despite teaching law at a university in a country with mature democracy.

“You cannot teach law in America and come back home unleash hatred and lawlessness among your people. That’s tragic,” said Chilima adding “President Peter Mutharika is an enemy of Malawians, for using violent acts to cling to power.”

Chilima further says the violence and intimidation allegedly perpetrated by the governing DPP is a form of vote rigging.

He has since challenged President Peter Mutharika to stop the malpractice.
