BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-A critic to the President Lazarus Chakwera’s Tonse administration main partner Malawi Congress party (MCP), Frank Chiwanda has revealed that he will organize mass protests in January 2022 to demand for a better country and removal of under-performing government officials from their offices.
In a recorded voice message circulating on social media, Chiwanda said in 2022 he is ready to hold national demonstrations against the MCP government and the demonstrations will target the capital hill where the central government offices are situated.
According to Chiwanda, apart from failing to deliver the promises, MCP has been brutal to its critics which is against the rules of democracy that Malawians fought for. He disclosed that he almost got killed in Dowa by MCP assassins after speaking against the party.
Chiwanda also said a minister belongings to the MCP threatened Rainbow TV to avoid airing an interview that the broadcasting station had with Chiwanda.
He has cautioned those working with MCP to threaten and silence those rising against it to desist from such as he’s working for the betterment of his fellow Malawians not just himself.
He has asked MCP die-hards to not be blind supporters but stand up for the truth when there’s something that needs to be corrected for the benefit of the country.
Chiwanda has also asked Malawians to desist from worshiping certain people but work together to fix the country.
He also disclosed that he will soon hold two press briefings this December to update Malawians about the upcoming January 2022 demonstrations.
Chiwanda therefore has asked Malawians to rise up against dictatorship that the MCP is instilling and has cautioned Malawi Congress party against intimidating opposition.
He has asked the party to allow the opposition to voice out their different views which will help to shape the ruling party’s vision.
